Shift firmness question??

I have a pcm for less tune in my pcm which includes the firmness adjustment set to firm and now my new trans is being built with a shift kit do I need to send it back to get re adjusted to the stock setting??

or I do have a B&M shift plus switch that I never installed will that do the trick of putting it back to the stock setting?

Thanks!

If you don't have a cable/laptop then yes you will need to send it back to Bryan to have the line pressure and whatever else he adjusts set back to stock.

Re: Shift firmness question??

Drive it first. I had a ton of line pressure and a shift kit and I loved it. Leaving a stop light at 1/4 throttle and chirping hard 2nd's. It was cool. I lost some of the firmness when I put in my stall, but now it is perfect. So if you plan on putting a stall in, leave it. Just my opinion, I'm not sure if it can do damage to anything but the rearend .

It's seems to have damaged your transmission if your sig is correct. Increasing the line pressure is an old debate around here - I suggest researching it. For what it's worth I had mine bumped to 115 for about 20 passes at the track and a couple months then dropped it back to 95. I have no valve body kit yet.

The racing damaged it. I was fine until I blew the motor up and let it sit for 6 months. Then got the car running again and now it doesn't shift when it should. I drove it with the line pressure up for a long time. I heard there is a vacuum actuator (sp?) that actually makes them go bad.

Re: Shift firmness question??

well the tranny I am having built is a race trans so I think it could handle more than stock, but I will ask the builder that question, my question was really can I switch it down a notch with the B&M or should I send the pcm back in for the adjustments??

Thanks guys!
