Rpm limit on stock pcm

Is this the limit of the stock computer? It is like hitting the revlimiter but it is set at 8300. I run a data recorder and if any of my shifts or the top end hit 7000 the grafts show a very unstable engine rpm. I shift at 6500 and go through the traps at 6900. I have run a best of 10.21 and want to get to 10.0s but I don't know if the stock computer will let me and I don't realy want to go DFI.

I have a 96 Ta with a 95 computer

Thanks for any help, Rick

The last cell in the stock PCM is at 6800 rpm so everything above that uses the info from that cell. People have been ok up until about 7200 rpm I've heard by making the 6800rpm info fatter.
