reprogramming is it worth it
i have a basically stock car just a few things done and wanted to know if it was worth it to get it programmed. i have different sized tires than stock and know i need it to get the speedometer corrected but will i see any other gains and what could i do with it also

At your present level of modifications ... no.
A Hypertech power programmer will let you do Tire sizes and the like, quite a usefull tool, but somewhat limited if you get into more serious modifications.
If you like the car and have the $$ for some real modifications, then I'd recommend LT1 editor or Tuner Cat.
Hope this helps

yes it is worth it.
if you considering a hypertec (thats sucks) then just buy a laptop off the board and buy tunercat and datamaster. i bought a laptop with datamaster and tunercat off the board for 300 bucks.
and there is power to be had with tuning a bolt on car. and its also handy when you have idle truobles or something you can fix with your maf sensor, and get your blms right.
but if your just determine on buying one get tunercat.

If you plan on keeping the car and like to learn then YES!
I wouldn't spend any real money on a hypertech either. If you have a few hundred hours to kill then LT1 edit is the way to go. Just check out a quality tuner's website like Ed Wright, and you will see what just some of the capabilities of custom tuning can do.
You can ruin you engine/transmission. You do need to proceed with caution. Check out Injuneer's page for an excellent understanding of what can be done. Search for him. I think he also has links to other programmer's web sites.
