Red face Read .LT1 pcm file

I have a bit of an unusual problem. I extracted (read) the contents of my pcm and saved to a .lt1 file on the hard drive. This file was then to be sent to obtain the LT1_Edit programing software. Prior to sending the file, I attempted to read this file by opening it with the Wordpad program. This program was obviously (in hindsight) not gonna allow me to view this contents legibly. The major problem now, when any subsequent attempts are made to read the pcm, it's contents are stored in a wordpad file, which is of no value. I need to know my options with this problem. Must I reformat the hard drive?

This is because the first time you opened the file the extension was not known by Windows and it asked you for a program to open it with. You chose wordpad and so Windows associated the .lt1 file type with wordpad. When you'll install lt1_edit, it will re-associate that extension with its editor and the problem will be solved.
