Power Programmer ?????'s

Does anyone know what actually the power programmer with the power tune does for theCpu and motor?
What i'm wanting to know is does it change the fuel curve or Spark advance and how much of a change does it do? Two of my friends cars seemed to slow down at the track after the programming. Just wondering what the programmer does.
Ive installed mine, and run it. then taken it out and couldnt tell a thing
Thanks Jerry

Just out of curiosity, are you friends' cars M6s?

What does a Power tune change:

leans out the air/fuel ratio in power enrichment mode a little. It mainly focuses at 4800-5600 rpms but has some minor changes between 3600 and 4000 too.

It messes a bit with the MAF calibration. They do that on their "custom tunes" as well. I don't see a reason why they would do this in their power tune. Maybe because most people have cold air induction kits? Hmm.

They add some timing in the lower rpm range and pull some in the upper rpm range.

That's about it....

I know that when I had the power tune, my car was getting more knock retard than without it, which obviously made it slower. I logged this back when I was messing around with the Hypertech.
First time, I programmed it, took it for a WOT run, then immediately, I deprogrammed it and took it for a run. At least a few more degrees of KR with the Hypertech....

I experience a little bit of knock retard after the power tuning as well. But after i installed my LT4 Knock Module, the car was runnig great. The power tuning just adjust the air fuel somewhat. I noticed on my air fuel ratio gauge i was runinng less rich at higher RPM
