Power Programmer Erased
Like many others, I traded in my car (95 T/A) without reinstalling the stock programming. The dealership sent the car to auction. I have had this PP3 collecting dust in my closet for 2 years now. I am wondering if anyone has found a way to get it to work again. I know its designed not to work again, but work-arounds are always invented for most everything.
The reason I am asking is I have a 97 now and it also has the LT1. I would love to change my tire size and have a correct speedo, not to mention having the fans turn on sooner. I'd hate to dish out another $300 when I have one sitting in my closet.

Has anyone even taken one apart? It looks like there are two removable bios chips?? Also, there is an empty bios female plug. I am thinking one chip is a read-only bios and they other is the memory stored from your particular vehicle. Hmm. Why didn't I reprogram the car before I traded it in, grrr.

Yes, the programmer can be updated. I do not know the cost, but it should be considerably less then a new programmer! You should be able to contact Hypertech and tell them you have since sold the car, and wanted to update the programmer for your car you currently have now!
