Please Help, Reflash, which PCMCIA?

Well I am using a laptop with no serial port. I purchased a Belkin F5U103 adapter to use with my laptop. It worked great, I was using Freescan DataMaster, and Reading PCM files. Upon reading a friends file, I got a Blue Dialog Box saying "An error has occured, dumping physical memory." We disconnected the battery, reconnected, and everything was ok. I reread the file, and it downloaded great. So I figured it was just a glitch. I went ahead, purchased lt1edit, and just recieved it. I downloaded my file, successfully. I made some changes and while uploading, I got a "lost connection" and 9%. So now, my car doesnt run, and I need to get the pcm flashed. I think It might be the belkin adapter doing it, so I just want to purchase a pcmcia serial card. What do you guys reccomend? Thanks for the help, and thanks for reading

So the first error was a blue screen.. so called "blue screen of death"? That is an OS problem and nothing to do with the programming software/hardware. I know the guys who dont have serial ports are using a certain USB adapter.. supposidly only 1 works. Can you give a little more info on the laptop?

sure, its a HP Pavilion ZT1170:
Windows XP
1133mhz Intel P3
240mb ram
no serial port

I am not sure what else you need to know, but I am using the Belkin F5u103 adapter, the one that everyone is using. So the "Blue Screen Of Death" huh, how can I go about possibly seeing what went wrong, or how to fix it? Thanks!

Not really sure. Windows XP is supposed to be the most stable OS ever built. I have never even seen the blue screen with XP on my computer and have had XP for several years. If you havent done it already.. try installing the service pack 2 released from Microsoft.

SERVICE PACK TWO IS THE PROBLEM!! everyone who I know sp2 has destroyed they're comp, my buddy downloaded it and then defraged, it took two days to defrag!! I have an EtherSerial made by Silicom that I got off ebay. It says it wont work with XP but it does you just have to use the win2000 driver. It was 55 bucks I believe.

SP2 is not the problem. I have installed SP2 on my desktop and my lappy and havent had any issues with tunercat on either one.
