Performance mode shifting on a ´96 z28

Does anybody know for sure if the performance shift modification can be accomplished in 1996 OBDII cars?
I've read a lot of posts and did not find info on this. Some posts say that it "can" be done, some sites say that it only applies to 94-95 cars.

I did it!
Following the procedures for the 94-95 models I installed the switch and the indicator led and now can use the normal and performance shift tables as desired.
The performance tables are a great. Shifts are firmer and the shift points at part throttle are far more agressive than the normal tables. Downshifting is also much more responsive.
With a few bucks and a couple of hours invested is like having a complete new car.
