Odd tunercat problem

When I have made a new program and go to record it onto the pcm the first try when its trying to contact the pcm it always stops and says there is an error then the car barely runs if it starts, so i have learned if you dont bother trying to run the car and just take one of the battery terminals off and reconect it, it resets and then when I try to reprogram it, it always works the second time after doing the previous steps. I would like it to work without hastles so if anyone has had or remedied this problem i would be interested as to how you did. Thanks.

What version...

What version of TunerCat are you using? I know the 1.98 version had issues when you made a programming change and then immediatly tried to program your pcm without first closing tunercat and then restarting it again, it would screw up your pcm. If your not on version 2.00, it would probably be a good idea to get the update.
