OBDI conversion worth it?

I have a 97 WS6 T/A M6 with 40,000 miles. I am doing the following in the nest two months,
1)MAC (94-95 single cat) Jet Hot coated headers and y-pipe
2)Off-road pipe
3)02 sims
4)Borla cat-back (94-95 single cat)
5)TB bypass
6)Taylor OVC wires
7)NGK TR55 platinum plugs

I already have factory ram air with a k&n filter and I run Mobil 1 5W30.

Now I have heard that with a free flowing exhaust such as this one I will set off an egr code I believe its something like PCM0400? To avoide this I'm looking into buying an OBDI conversion from MADZ28.com. I would get the EGR deleted, rear 02's deleted, fans on at 160 (will install new t-stat), AIR deleted, skip shift deleted and get a custom tune for my set-up. I would still keep the EGR and AIR hooked up but will this eliminate that code?
Also, will this programming be felt and if so what kind of gains can be had? I was told be ION at madz28 that I will feel the difference, any opinions on this?
Thanks in advance,
Tyler

If I may, I would like to make some suggestions...

1. Dont go with the MAC headers. I have a 97 TA and went with the Hooker Shorty Headers 94-95 Style. They were ceramic coated from hooker and I paid $425. I then bought a Flowmaster Y-Collector from Summit Racing for $33. I cut off the 2 1/2 collector from Hooker and installed the 3" Flowmaster Collector. 3" Exhaust pipe from the Y-Collector to a 3" Cut-out was $7 from scrap purchased at a muffler shop. $29 for the cut-out from Summit. I then went with a Flowmaster 80 Series muffler for $90 and am yet undecided on new tips to install. So in the time bein it still has the stock dual TA tips on it. This is a sggestion for your exhaust. Will save you alot of money over that over rated Borla. And those MAC headers-- I just saw a pair go on this week-end. Talk about crappy workmanship. Go with some Hookers.
2. So that ellimanates your off-road pipe. Now if you get your computer programmed from like Brian at PCM for Less you can go with out the O2 simms. Heck with the money you saved on ditching the Borla you could get a OBD1 PCM and run LT1 Edit and do all the tuning yourself. Always have been worth 10-15 RWHp on the dyno when I tune with my LT1 Edit after some mod installs.
3. The Taylor OVC wires is a great choice. Thunder Racing has a special on them right now.
4. using NGK plugs be prepared to swap them at least every 10,000 miles if not sooner. Get some Autolite or other plugs in the $2.50-4.00 each range and you will be fine. Get platnuim if you like. Remember electrial current only hits from the tallest point to the other. Duals and triples are worthless.

Any questions just ask. Ucrazymonkey@cs.com
