OBD2 to OBD1

I did a search, nothing came up, I know it's been asked a hundred times, but now it's my turn. Brother has a 1995 Formula, I have a 1994 PCM which I used to have in my car, is locked to my LT1 edit, I now run FAST fuel injection, so we want to put the PCM out of my 94 into his 95, someone fill me in. Do I have to change the knock sensor, or can I use a resistor? If so how? How about the plug under the dash, can I change that over with my old one, if so how? What I mean, is everyone just cutting the OBD2 connector off, replacing it with the OBD1 connector, or actually disasembling the two connectors and reusing them. Any help appreciated.

The 94's and 95's use the same knock sensor. I have an M6 so I am not too up on the A4's. You might want to flash a 95 a4 file in for him just in case the transmission controls are different. The ALDL connector in the cabin shouldn't matter. I am currently running a 94 pcm in my 96, utilizing a 95 M6 flash. (I had to modify the knock sensor circuit).

Thanks for the reply, well his car is an M6, the pcm is out of a A4, so I will have to reflash it with an M6 file, no problem there. That's good news about the knock sensor also, so I won't have to mess with that. But he has the OBD2 connector under the dash, my LT1 edit cable is for the 12 pin OBD1 style connector. Any ideas on that? I think what I will try to do, is just switch the connector part, in other words, push the wires out of one connector on install in the other, just not sure the pinout is the same, I will have to have a look see in the AM.

They make a cable for an OBDI car that has a OBDII end on it. Some cars in 1995 started coming with the new style connector on it. OR if you don't want to buy a new cable, make sure you put the pins in the right place, I don't have the diagram- but I THINK a diagram is on www.akmcables.com website. Check it out!

Forgot about the different connector style -

Check out http://www.akmcables.com/techinfo.htm

You can also buy cables from him if you want a more elegant solution.
