OBD I and II

So if i had 2 pcms sitting next to eachother how would i tell them apart? is there any makrings that cam on them? or the numbers on the stickers?

The part numbers on the PCM would be able to identify the year and that would be able to tell you which version it is. I don't know what part numbers correspond to which years. Shoebox might have that information or if not, one of the mail-order tuners on this site such as PCMsforless or Madz28 would know.

I think I might have answered this question on another board.


There is a label with a service number on the PCM.

16214399 - corresponds to a 96 [OBDII] PCM
16188051 - 94-95 [OBDI] PCM
