"Not a Licensed PCM"

Trying to flash the pcm with LT1edit, but it tells me the PCM is not licensed. I can read the pcm just fine, so I know the cable is good and it is not a connection problem.

It seems like I'm locked out of the pcm. It worked fine about a year ago .

Any ideas?

Did you have it reflashed at the dealer or changed the VIN?

I actually have 2 OBD1 pcms. I sent one of them to a friend of mine and he changed the VIN to my LT1edit VIN # so I could have it as a backup, but this is the original licensed pcm (to my LT1edit) as far as I know.

I'm about 90% this is the "#1" pcm, but would this be a likely problem if this was the corrected pcm?

Again, I can read it just fine. The VIN check out just fine, although it shouldn't matter, should it (for flashing)?

Yes it does matter and changing the VIN will not make it work with lt1_edit, because it doesn't look for the VIN only.

Ok..Well, Andrew did it so I can blame him .

Thanks Ion. I emailed Andrew and am confident he will get me fixed up.

Hmmm... maybe he knows something I don't know.

EDIT: This DID work on older versions of lt1_edit.
