No Speedo, Replaced the VSS, What should I check???
What should I check? I'm getting...
- No cruise control
- No Odometer
- No Tripometer
- Most importantly, No Speedometer...
All the other gauges are working just fine and I have no SES... I unplugged the VSS to see if it would set an SES and it DID! So that can't be the problem...
I've replaced the VSS but it was a no go. Anyone know what I should look for now? I'm guessing it maybe a wire under the dash? What color wire should I look for and to where should I follow it?...

The SES light will report if the PCM does not eceive the speedo signal, so the circuit is complete to that point, the PCM then sends the signal to the dashboard. So either the speedo in the gaugecluster is to blame or th ewiring to the PCM from the speedo gauge.
If your car is an auto and still shifting correctly (unless a 93 car) the ECM is seeing it all completely fine, so that would definately tell you that the VSS onthe tranny is working.

Where's the ECM and where's the wires from the Speedometer to the Dash? Also I don't have a ton of wiring and computer experience but I'll do it if I have to... How do I take the PCM apart to check the speedometer wire from that point to the gauges?

The ECM is located under the hood on the pass side fendewell.
The wire will leave the PCM and go through the firewall and travel from there under the dash to the gauge cluster.
I would check at the gauge cluster. I'm not sure what type of signal it would be though , modulated or what. Maybe some of the more knowledgeable people can answer that, also I'm not familiar with the V6 wiring to tell you what color wire to find and in what connector.
