New to Tuning...Where to start?

Im thinking about getting into tuning my car myself with my laptop. So my question is, where do I start? Where do I buy the cables, software and etc? I just have a mailorder tune as my car sits now. Anyone have a link to a site where I can research all the tuning techniques and etc?

I have a 94 Camaro with a 385 Stroker, P&P Heads and Intake, CC 306 Cam, 255 Fuel Pump, 42lb Injectors, and lots more goodies.

First thing you need is a cable. you can make one yourself, or buy one...information for both can be found with simple web searches, but I found it using links from www.tunercats.com

Once cable is obtained I would get a decent datalogger, the one I use is free, called Datamaster EE. A web-search should pull up their website and download place.

As far as programming capabilities, I believe that is it. I personally use TC.

Before you can tune, you need to know what is going on. Pick up a copy of Datamaster for scanning the computer.
