Re: Need a starting point for revised BLM boundaries

Very Interesting. I've been trying to adjust my car with the MAF tables lately. I've got the cruise down pretty well so my S terms bounce between 125 and 132 or so (123 is about the lowest). But when it idles, the fuel trim cell goes to 16 and my S term counts go to 150+ (L terms max to 160 as well). The MAP at idle is right around 50 KPA @ 825 RPM. Would I adjust the BLM Cell Map Boundaries or the RPM boundries and by how much to start?

Sell your car and get a Chevy, yo wouldnt have these problems. (at least your car starts). I wish I had your problems.

What's up Shammon? Yeah, it's running now but it took a year and a half if that makes you feel any better. I guess your ride's down, what's wrong?

FWIW I searched a bit and decided to shoot in the dark a bit with these #'s in the BLM boundaries:

RPM = 1000, 1400, 2200
MAP = 45, 60, 85
Min = 30

....I'll hope for the best and log some data

Clear your PM's and I'll tell you all about it.

He keeps breaking stuff, that's his problem. He even lost his blower about a week ago.

Don't worry amigo, school is pretty much over after today.

Mine are set something like 1200, 1450, 1700 you still have 3 cells to use below 1200 and 3 to use above 1700... since my car spends most of the time above 1200 and right around 1700, I figured Id use the most cells that way. MAP is only 5 KPA above stock.

Re: Need a starting point for revised BLM boundaries

Well I tried the 1000, 1400, 2200 and 45, 60, 85 with a min of 30 combination. Makes no difference at all. I haven't had time to look at my log yet (Datamaster is new to me and I fumble around) but did notice while scanning that my MAP is usually around 12-19 !!! I guess I should put the MAP back to stock and maybe leave the RPM where it is ....I dunno.

Should I keep fooling with this until there's an improvement or maybe try adding some fuel in the MAF table at the low loads where I'm seeing the surge?

I'll check out the write-up when I get time ....thanks.

MEANLT1 ....I don't do PM's, that's why I leave it full. Lousy internet connection makes it too time consuming. Shoot me a mail sometime.

Re: Need a starting point for revised BLM boundaries

I found the easiest way is to log a run, and then use something like BLM editor on it. When you view that log at the end it will tell you all the cells and the amount of hits they recieved.

Do you mean "VE master" or is there something new called BLM editor?

Question Re: Need a starting point for revised BLM boundaries

I just realized something. The only place I'm seeing the surge is at really, really low load .......like 12-19 MAP. This particular load is seen from say 1,100 to 1,600 rpm. So perhaps I should leave the MAP values low ...or at least the min for blm update and have the rpm's set only slightly higher (exc the highest one).

Let me clarify a bit with this question:

How is mine using the lower cells (it shows that it is) after my resetting the min for blm update to 30 when I'm driving around seeing 12-19 ????? I don't think I understand this yet.

Does the 8051 PCM use the VE tables at all while in MAF mode?

Re: Need a starting point for revised BLM boundaries

Good question, alot of people say no, But I recently smoothed out my idle (running very rich) by reducing VE at he given spots. Car responded very nicely.
