My 95' LT1 has OBDII...WTF???

I posted this in General Tech, but thought maybe you guys could give me some more insight on this subject. Stopped by Dreamer1q's place today to have him recalibrate my speedo for the gear change. Cable wouldn't work cause my car has a frickin' OBDII harness on it. WTF, did my Z come with this somehow or what. I thought I had OBDI the whole time. So I guess I'm still gonna hafta go get a mail order tune. I wanted to wait. Has anyone ever heard of this before. What a pain in the ****. It always seems like I have the only car in the world with stupid crap like this on it. If it's anything to waste my time and make things harder on me, it'll be on my car. Is it possible I have an OBDII connector under the dash but still an OBDI PCM? At any rate what are the differences between the two, both pros and cons? I need a refresher since I've been making plans based on an OBD1 car. Geez....

You can get the cable you need at http://www.akmcables.com

He sells a cable for use with an OBD1 PCM that has an OBD2 connector on it. It was made for OBD2 owners that wanted to swap in an OBD1 PCM.

It was made for the 95 LT1s which had OBD1 but came with the OBD2 connector.

When I first got my car I tried to hook up an OBD2 scanner to it. Needless to say, it didn't work.
