Boy, these threads are all ready getting way too common. Let's just put this very simply. If you have to ask to get a free copy of LT1 Edit or Tunercat, you can't get one. Those of us who could actually hack a copy of either of these programs are not going to bother doing it to give you a free copy, and we aren't going to be stupid enough to charge you for a hacked copy, since that is very illegal and easy to trace. And I know I don't feel like doing time for some kid that can't afford to buy the program himself. Hey, moderator, can we make this a sticky so we can put an end to this topic? It's worse than asking which is better, TC or LT1Edit every week!!!

Yea, I agree.. it does kind of suck. I paid for both tunercat and lt1_edit and I religiously pay for every single update and definition files (tunercat).
Even though I feel Carputing charges a little too much for some of their products, especially considering their somewhat poor customer service, I still think they deserve the money. And for the price of Tunercat... come on, anyone can afford it.

Well, DOOM Master..... first of all I'm not some kid!!!!!!!! Second Yea know I did was ask the question was it available some where for free, copies. I'm getting tired of some people on here not helping a fellow f-body guy out. So what if i asked a question that you have seen before who cares....... Have you EVER asked a question twice, If i was a gambling man I say yes. And did the one you asked give you sheyat about it. I bet not.

Ya know theres alot of young kids on here yes but they need people to teach about these cars and asnwer their question no matter how often you here them.

All you had to say was you should purchase it, cuz no one wants to go to jail for making copies....... but didn't you say you hacked a copy? so there your illegel copy which if i'm correct is a jailable offense?

You should be nicer to people, one day you may need someones answer to a question, and since your the way you are no will answer.

Have a nice day!!!!!

Age has nothing to do with this. If your not a kid then you of all people should understand that the guys that created these programs work for a living. They have families and dependants and people like you are out there taking money from there pockets. If you don't want to pay for there knowledge then don't but "getting a copy" isn't any different than stealing.

Please, I don't even want to here that $hit...People on here help everyone they can most of the time but when some one comes here asking for a free lunch we all get a little pissed off.
Most of us on here work very hard to understand our cars and the computer systems on it.
I personnally have put in hundreds of hours into researching different aspects of the car but still couldn't hold a candle to many of the people that you will see in the "Tuning" and "Advanced" forums. Not everything is going to fall in your lap.

Gee Whiz...that doesn't happen 500 times a day here does it.
20,000 people use the site daily.....he's not saying you asked a stupid question, he's saying that this question about getting a free copy has come up very frequently and it agitates those of us that payed for the program.
Hell, I got an e-mail to my personal mail account asking for a copy a few months ago. We all pay to play.

So teaching them to rip off the people that help us to tune and perfect our cars is acceptable but getting a little irritated by questions like yours are not.

Look man, I'm not trying to get you stirred up but come on.
Its the pot calling the kettle black here.
The guys that design the software are very helpful and deserve some respect for all there effort and knowledge.

My .02, you don't have to agree.

Ok, GetaZforgetGT ,,, why did you feel you had to throw your .02. in I have no Idea...... but it's ok.

I didn't know this was a program that was shared or one had to purchase it, I mean christ do you go out and buy a new verison of windows when it comes or when your buddy has you'll borrow it from him, same thing for CD's those get burnt all day long from friend to friend so the people who make them, the record companies, and bands are losing money to if you look at it that way.......... and I think they have families too...... but i'm sure you don't of that when you burn a CD instead of buying do you.....

My other comment was that I'm tired of people bashing others for asking questions... you see it through out this site where some gets tired of seems that same post and has the need to COMMENT rudely........ I do get tired of them too but I just move on past it, theres on need to get rude, just askthem to do a search, that this has been discussed.

The comment I made about teaching us had NOTHING to do with the program..... It was general comment that is alot of people here that what and need to learn about these cars and The more knowledgeable ones here should lend their knowledge to those less informed instead of blasting them.

Is there anymore comments are can we leave this where it's at.

*Yawn* I doubt you'll find a lot of people on this board that hold your opinion of me. In fact, ask anyone who has come to this board with a question about PCM tuning, you'll find that if I can answer it (and even if I can't, I'll at least try to point you in the direction of someone who can) I answer it. I only ask a question twice when I didn't get an answer the first time. I'm tired of seeing this question from every single person (whether you are a kid or not, I don't care) who comes on this board. You also need to learn something about hacking and cracking before you start talking about it. Even if I had a hacked copy of TC or LT1Edit (which I don't and didn't say I did), it wouldn't be illegal. In fact, it wouldn't be illegal for me to give you a hacked copy of TC or LT1Edit, as long as I did it for free. It would only be illegal if I hacked a copy or gave you a copy of a legal program and charged you something to do it (like this: OK, i'll give you a copy of TC, you give me $50). As for me hacking, well, there isn't a whole lot out there that I can't hack. I'm an old school hacker, I started long ago when 486s were considered fast. There a few other people on here who are to, which is where the comment "if you can't do it youself, you can't do it" comes from. If you have to ask a hacker for something, he probably won't do it for you. And as for warez, it only works because it's free, not because people charge for it. Anyways, with your little rant about music, yeah, I copy music all the time. Then again, there a big difference between the music industry charging $20-$40 a CD and TC charging a 1 time fee of $100 let you tune your car unlimited (LT1Edit is a different story, I believe LT1Edit is a rip off and you shouldn't waste your money). The music industry charges hundreds of times over the cost it takes to produce a CD (which, after all the amounts are figured in, you could market the CD for $5 and still make plenty of money, not overcharge like they do). And if you think my comment was ment to be rude, that's not rude. If you want rude, I can really be rude. Trust me. Had you simply asked "Where can I get LT1Edit for my 96 LT1" or "What do I need to tune my 96 LT1", I'm sure I would have said "Do a search, the information is all in the archives" or something similar. This has nothing to do with helping out a fellow F-body or LT1 owner. And as for you being a kid, if you are not, but you sure sound like one. Well, enough of my rant, I've said my share.
