Low fan speed nearly never stop...

Since i ve installed a FTRA with my lid setup my car is running a little warmer than before.Specially in traffic.I knew it will do this but since a lot of member (ltx and of course lsx)run it, it didnt bother me.

But now my low speed fan doesnt seems to ever stop...I mean in traffic they never stop.If i let the car run at idle in my driveway with the hood open, the fan will stop once in a while. And by the way my car doesnt overheat at all.

I thought i had a alternator problem because i could see some voltage drop on my cluster gauge but its only cause because the low fan is always running.

Basic info:
-I got a 160 degree thermostat
-The low fan speed is set to start @ : 180 degree
-The high fan speed is set to start @: 185 degree
-The low fan speed is set to stop @: 177 degree
-The low fan speed is set to stop @ 182 degree

I wanted to try to make the high speed fan come on at 35mph(fan treshold high speed) to help while im running at a constant speed but it doesnt help when im sitting at a red light.

On my log with datamaster i can see that my low fan are coming on right at 180 degree and my high one at 185 degree.I never saw higher degree than 187.

So i would need some advice here.
-What can i do to make them stop ?
-Do i need to change some data in my tune (fan start degree and fan stop degree)?
-Does making my high speed fan run longer(more than 3 degree less)could help me?

Thanks

Seems obvious. Your engine is running warmer and your fan ON temps are too low. Raise them. You don't need them that low.

What would be your suggestion about it.Something like 185 degree start low and 190 start high ?

Im open to any loigacl suggection

Mine are set at around 200/220 and they almost never come on (without running the a/c). 160 thermostat.

Well that gives me an idea of what i should do and expect.

I ll try lower (185\190) then i ll go up(190\195) until im happy.

Did you use the fan treshold high speed or you ve leave it at zero.I was thinking that if i put it like at 35mph it could maybe cool down the engin better...But i ve never used this feature.

Thanks

I didn't bother any of the other fan settings.

With My 160* I have mine set at 195/205 more towards Rob's settings, and also have not messed with the speed setting. My fans almost never come on in 80-90* weather except after prolonged stops. It runs along at about 185 using the air dam flow and never goes above 200 when stopped in traffic that 15* difference between 185 and 200 gives a good buffer so you can stop at a light or whatever for a minute or two w/o the fan kicking on constantly. Remember a T-Stat starts opening at the published temp and a rule of thumb is to give it 15* to fully open, so depending on physical characteristics your 160* it may or may not be fully opened at 185*. The temp when running under air dam control (no a/c or fans on) will let you know approximately how your T-Stat is working. . Let us know how you make out.!!

Well thank you both, i ve tried some setting today and made a lot of logs with datamaster.

I ve ended up with 200\210 with a 35mph treshold.

In normal city driving(stop and go) i saw a average between 185\190 degree. It would go higher in traffic but never pass the 200 mark.On highway i would get low 170degree temp.

The treshold is only if i hit 200 degree. The high speed one would help when i get to steady 35mph driving.

Thanks
