Knock Recovery Rate??

Can someone help me understand this table.
I get what its supposed to do but "% of knock removed/ 8 Cam pulses ". They may has well have put it in Greek for me.

I just want to make the recovery rate as fast as possible while keeping everything safe.

And while your at it could you explain Knock Fast Attack rate.

Thanks for your help all.

Lets see if I understand it that well. Its been a year since I even looked at those tables.

If knock is detected the Fast Attack Rate calculates how much advance to immediately take out (total is determined by another table). After all 8 cylinders fire with no knock the Knock Recovery Rate calculates how fast the advance should be put back. If set to the fastest recovery rate it should put all advance back right away. You may not want it that fast.

My only worry is that setting the rate that high is that it could cover up true knock.

Setting it that high won't cover it up. What might happen is it will continue to knock everytime the advance is put back in.

With the crappy gas here in Ca (low octane and MTBE) I have to drop my max advance 2 degrees AND have a btm that drops it another .7 per pound of boost. I think if they offered a 93 without mtbe I could almost run it straight with under 6# of boost.

I hear you there.
I'm going to have to get some 100 octane and check things out before I make any major changes.

Thanks

i wasnt real sure which direction to change the #s so i just bottomed them out and now if i ever got knock...it will just flash up on my scanner for an instant and go away instead of lingering like it used to with the recovery rate.
