Are they different (2000 and 2002) ?

>I tried to use the fob from the wife's truck (2002 Silverado) for my truck (2000 Silverado) using the programming for the 2000 truck from the Helms manual , but it (fob) would not accept new programming and continued to control the 2002 truck .
So what gives ?

The #'s on the back are totally different from the 2000 and the 2002 remotes .
I think I am going to skip it , and just get a remote starter ... my truck is an automatic anyway .
Thanks for your input .

Cool

That's what I tell everyone that I know to do. THe remote starter, is great!! Make Sure you get one made by DEI(Directed Electronics) Viper, Hornet, Your Valet, Clifford, or Avitel. I have been putting them in since 1992 and they make the most reliable.

Go to EBAY. You can pick up a new/used remote for your specific make and model for less than $20. Make sure the configuration, (picture), matches what your looking for, then make sure the part # and the FCC # match the one you got.
