I have a 94 Camaro v6, with a viper alarm system. but the alarm system doesn't seem to be the problem. the car can be unlocked and locked not only by other peoples remotes, but by completely different model car remotes!
I've seen remotes work from a jeep cherokee, ford explorer, oldsmobile cutlass, and many more. this is a problem for 2 obvious reasons: it allows anyone entry into my car, rendering the alarm useless, and it sets the alarm off, annoying any and all who are unlucky enough to have keyless entry in the same parking lot as my car.

any ideas?

Since your Viper alarm now acts as your keyless entry, disconnect the GM Reciever and the problem will go away. I have never heard of that. Your case is rare as far as I know.

Here Make sure everything works when you unplug it. It shouldn't disable what the Viper controls. I am not completely sure. I have Viper alarm also and sold my KeyFOBS. I never tried disconnecting the receiver. It can be bypassed if it renders your locks inop. Make sure they work by the switches on the doors too.

before I had my alarm put in, I was at a car dealership one night looking at cars for my girl, I hit the factory remote's unlock button and the factory alarm on a Montero Sport started going off, and there was nothing other than me anywhere around there.
