I don't mean to be a dumb@$$, but this is my first time doing anything of this nature. I want to be able to datalog/tune my car (with help of coarse). As stated, I just recieved the Windows 98 laptop via fedex. It seems to be in good working order. I want to use the RT tunercat for $99 bucks on www.tunercat.com . Do I purchase this and download the info onto my home computers hardrive or do I buy a disk and download onto my laptop. Pcmforless is doing a OBII to obI pcm conversion for me, so what cables or datalogging software do I need?

go to tuner cats site and you can download the obd1 tuner free. works for 30 days, $69. you will need the EE def file, $19 there is a link on there site to AKM cables about $90 i think. there might be some used ones on this site in the for-sale section. the real time emulation is for eprom '93. '94 & '95 pcm use the eeprom and EE def file. win-flash $19
what are the folks at pcm for less doing? is this a plug and play obd2 to obd1 conversion? no repinning nessary?
