Instrument Cluster Conversion

Okay, i have a 96' 3.8 liter V6, i bought the 155 instrument cluster for my firebird. I plugged it in out of cursioty, every thing read as it should, (temp, oil, gas, and voltage) and i was surprised the the rpm read correctly at idle. This new cluster didn't come with an odometer, i'm supposed to be able to use the one i currently have, and when i started the car to check the gages, the speedometer went all the way to the mas 155, and i'm assuming its because the odometer isn't in it. What i want to know is, is the tach correct, since it read the correct idle, or do i need to calibrate it, and will the speedometer be off or will it read correctly. The new cluster came off a 95 Trans Am, i don't know the gear ratio in it, but i know mine has the 3.08. Please help me out.

P.S. if you know how to take out the odometer and put it in the new one, let me know, so i don't mess anything up.

x.
