Talking I'm a newbie...need help with VATS

Sorry for the newbie question but my situation is a little different. I'm in the process of swapping a 93 vette LT1 into my 2nd gen s10 pickup. I've done some searching on VATS and i read a couple of times that vehicles that weren't originally equipped with VATS don't have to go through the "bypassing" process. But now I'm confused on whether or not I have to have it deleted out of my pcm? If I do, who do ya'll recommend to do it (i'd prefer someone in TX if possible)?

Is there anything else I'm missing on this issue?

Thanks for the help! Also, I love the site...lots of good info here!

Chris

You will probably need it deleted out of the PCM, so that way the PCM doesn't go looking for it when you try to start the car. As for finding someone in TX, good luck. There aren't a lot of local area tuners. You would probably be better off having Madwolf do it for you, it would probably be cheaper.

Thanks for the advice! Madwolf has email

Do ya'll recommend having anything else deleted or tweaked while he's in it? The motor should be bone stock when it finally gets here and I don't plan on making any changes at this time (heads, cam, etc.). If i need to provide more info, let me know!

Thanks

Chris

I emailed Madwolf last week and still haven't heard back so I want to ask 1 more question. Do I necessarily have to have VATS deleted from computer?

Thanks

Well, I've dropped him a second email and still no response. I was looking at having some kind of tune done as well. Can you do that too? Basically, I need the VATS deleted, possible AIR deleted, tire sizes and gears added, and a little tune done. What do you think? I'd be willing to pay of course.

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,
I'm really sorry about the delay. I only got one email from you though and that was yesterday. Already replied to it too.
You sure you sent the first one to the right address?
Thanks.

EDIT: Vince, can you program 93s?
