Idle Speed

I noticed that when it's raining out, my 396 stroker motor idles about 200rpms lower than when it's dry...and it's a stable idle. Dry 950-1050
wet 725-850. Anyone have an explanation for that phenomenon?

wet air filter or just the idle target is set too low for the cooler temp the car runs when its cool out. Easy change with Tunercat.

I've driven the car in much cooler weather and didn't see the same difference in idle. If anything, the idle is more violent (more noticable cam lope) when it's running colder. Once it's warm (typically operates between 175 - 190F), the idle stays around 950 -1050 unless it is actively raining, so I'm guessing that it is the moisture being sucked into my Moroso CAI that "calms" the beast and enables it to idle at a lower level without starting to stall. I have a Scanmaster LT-1 on my dash, so I can monitor engine function at all times. Other than the normal changes, decreased injector pulse width, etc., there isn't any glaring difference in outputs.
