Me too! I thought that it had a diffent vin than the program (.bin) you were trying to put in it. There is another way too have the ecm flashed besides the dealer, but that requires sending it to PCMFORLESS or TunerCat. Dealer would be easer. If you do get it flashed at the dealer- Post how much they Robbed(Charged)You. That way everyone can have an idea if they have to have it done. We will also know if soom dealers are charging way to much.

Just thought of this, but I have the Vin change program(as probably a lot of other people) That may also work. But if the moderator is going to fix it for than you don't need it. The VIN change is a real time program. I have never used it because I am running Windows 2000 and don't have a true DOS prompt. But as far as I know you just hook it up and change the vin info. Well make sure that you post what the problem was, that way when it happens to someone else we will be able to better help them.

Tunercat does not complain at all about mismatched VIN numbers, this is only part of the licensing issue behind LT1 Edit.
Since the VIN cannot be overwritten by eithe product, the only use of VINchange is for editing it in an actual LT1 Edit file for the purposes of actually loading the file into LT1 Edit where the VIN in the file does not match the licensed VIN.
Sounds like he is taken care of though.

Guys Im telling you if its a new pcm (remaned) and has no file in it your not going to be able to put one in it with TC. Its kind of like a computor with a new haddrive....it has to be formated before you can use your software....Andrew can take care of this for you. The VIN makes no difference .

I agree with Dr. Mudge, My old pcm was bad but I had downloaded all the settings with Tunercat onto my laptop. Bought new Computer that autoparts told me it would need to be flashed, Uploaded all the old settings, Runs fine.
