I just used Datamaster to log my brother's Hot Cam car and then to do my XE218-224 Cam car...we both have stock injectors. The hotcam car is registering at 97% Injector DC at 5400 RPM while the XE cam car is where it should be below 80%. These cams are very similar, so why the huge difference? Both engines are producing similar air flow at 255 grams/sec at that RPM.

Can injector DC be tuned down without losing HP, or do we need bigger injectors in the hotcam car?

Pretty much ignore the DC in datamaster, it isnt accurate.

A hotcam car (no head work) wont need bigger injectors unless the old ones are dirty/broken.

yeah i did a search and noticed alot of guys questioning the validity of the DC in datamaster, but i thought the 20% difference between the two similar cars would mean something. I don't think any are broken, but could be dirty since they have very high miles on them (165,000)

I had the car at the track lastnight, and of course I'm so used to driving the automatic anymore that I couldn't launch it being a 6speed. best 60' I cut was a 2.56...e.t.....14.33 and mph.....104. for national trail raceway, the MPH seemed not too far off. My XE 218-224 car is running a 12.7 (on DR's) and only at 106 at the same place, same day.
