How do you learn to tune?

Where do you start if you want to learn to tune your car yourself? Until now, I have relied on other people to tune my car but would really like to at least understand the process. I have LT1 Edit and some adjustments are simple and self explanatory, but when it gets to looking at and making adjustments in tables and the reason for doing so, I'm lost. Is there a good book or guide for those wanting to learn?

The internet is a wonderfull source of information (some you take with a grain of salt). Once you get started and have specific questions do a search on here. You may have to scan through pages to find the answer but its usually there. Thats what I did. Or if you can't find it put up a post and I'm sure somebody will have the answer. Good luck.
