I just started driving my LT1 383 stroker and I am having problems. My cats glow red after a while and I believe it might be due to possible knock retarding problems. However, it does not appear that my reprogrammed computer is retarding my timming. But my KS counter is up in the 3,000's. If the counter is up that hight, does that mean that it has picked up some knocking along the way??? Any help would be apprecated.

 

No, not necessarily. I usually have 3000 or so knock counts, just after starting the car.
