HELP! My laptop died while programming...:(

What should I do? It was 85% completed, and the laptop crapped out. I know the PCM is dead, but what are my options?

Can I get any PCM from a 94 or 95 whether its an A4 or M6? Can mine be repaired?

I just finished my cam install, and that was the last step. Now I can't start the car. Any help?

Contact Ion Soltan or Andrew Mattei.

[edit] Actually, Andrew's page says to contact Ion.

Normally they (not us ) can "recover" a PCM killed in this manner. Best of luck to ya. I'll move this to the programming forum too.

If it died on you because the battery died then you should just turn around and kick yourself ... NUMBER ONE RULE when programming the car is to have an absolutely fully charged battery or better yet, a full battery AND plugged into a power inverter that's plugged into the cig lighter.

Well, it's an older laptop that said 60%. Apparently it takes 60% of the battery to program 85% of the car!

Guess I should invest in a new laptop then too...

Ion will fix you right up... too bad you didnt have a spare around... always have a spare! If you keep your eyes open you can find an old PCM in the $50-$70 range which is about what it will cost to get your old one fixed. Basically computer off of ANY LT1 will work as long as its 94 and 95.

If Ion can't get you fixed up I can do it for you but try Ion first.
