Help, which Hypertech to buy?

Hey guys
I have a 95 Formula with single cat setup. I want to buy a tuner for it. I see Hypertechs for sale on here but I dont know which one I need to get. I am relatively new to the F body world, hence my lack of knowledge. So which do I need?

I second that. If you have a laptop, for what you would pay for a used HPP even you could buy Tunercat and change whatever you wanted. If you dont there are a couple of companies who could do a mail order tune for a whole lot less and get better results

There are 2 companys on here that do mail order tune. I just did mine from pcmforless.com. They got the order yesterday and it shipped today.

I have also heard good things about madz28.com

Tunercat is $100 and datmaster is free for the first 20 runs then even after that its not expensive. Still doesnt equal 300 much less 350

Re: Help, which Hypertech to buy?

No, no, no.....its even better

If you buy tunercat you can tune your car an infinite number of times. But datamaster which logs data from your pcm can only be used 20 times before you have to buy it. They are two seperate programs. But it only works on OBD-1 pcm's which you would have to convert yours to. Though I have heard that tunercat now has a program for OBD-2's as well but dont know the price

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but yours is going to be more expensive
96, and 97 kinda got screwed on software. There isn't really any cheap stuff (that I know of) for obd2 LS1s. for you, the best bet would be to either send it to one of the guys on here, or get a hypertech

Re: Help, which Hypertech to buy?

I think an OBD-1 conversion and Tunercat would still probably come in cheaper than a new Hypertech anyway
