Headlight problem...
Headlight problem...
i have a 1996 pontiac firebird formula, and when i bought it the headlights had been left up and there were no fuses for them. i put the fuses in and turned the headlights swtich to the parking light function and the headlights went up like they normally would when you turn the switch to the on function. when i turned them off, the headlights went down and when they were fully in the down position i heard a grinding noise that would stop until i put them back up. so for now i just took the fuses back out and left them up. can anyone help with this problem???
Re: Headlight problem...
i found the info about the gear and everything and how i can replace the original gear with the brass one, but the gear seems to work fine lifting the headlight and lowering it, it just keeps grinding when its already lowered. also the headlights go up when i put only the parkin lights on, and of course stay up for the headlights, but they should only be going up when i put the headlights on all the way.

If Brent Frankers website is where you found the fix information, be sure to scroll down to the "free fix" area.
It may work, it may not. It may or may not last for very long. But it is free.
Also of note, look at all the pictures and make sure you have the appropriate open and close stops for the raising arms.
