getting into tuning?

Think I will use tunercat, but my ? is on a 94 LT-1 does the computer have a removable eprom or is it flash memory.
I don't exactely know what I need to buy to get everything to tune the motor I plan to build which will be 383 stroker, ported stock heads and intake, and fairly aggressive cam, mid to LT headers etc....
will I need eprom reader/eraser/burner. Or will tunercat/cable do everything for me aside from diagnostics which I will need another proggy for
I tried a search and found some tuner cat info but was still unclear as to if the 94 ecm was the flash or eprom type.
Oh and if anyone knows about how much this will all cost me in rough estimation I would appreciate that.

94's are flash. That is the best thing about the 94-95's, they were flash as well as being OBD 1.

you will need a laptop (or a very close by PC), a data scanner (I use DataMaster) and a cable. http://www.akmcables.com/ for the cable.

Now, just read a few posts so you don't blow up your engine, and you will have hours of fun ahead of you.

I've got my trusty soldering iron out and was wondering if anyone could point me to a site with instructions on how to make the connector for a 95 obd1 computer with the newer style connection...

Why make one when you can spend money.

I used an old HPP programmer to get a compatible connector.
