electical masters.. please come in
OK, who here can claim to be the
master of electronics
when it comes to the wiring, etc of our cars?
Everytime I put in the rear defog, my battery guage drops into the orange. If I give it gas it goes back up. I've replace the battery and had the alternator tested. So those two aren't the issues. The belt is tight so I know the alternator is charging the battery properly.
Oh yeah, and my rear tailights are acting wierd. When I put the signals on, instead of all the bulbs flashing on and off together, they alternate, kind of like a cop cars does when he has his lights flashing.
My Cruise control is no longer working either so maybe it's all linked?
Any ideas?

You didn't buy this car used after it had been soaking in a flood somewhere did you? Make sure it doesn't have a Salvage title.
Try disconnecting the rear defroster and seeing if the gauge still drops. (sorry, don't have the wiring schematic right in front of me).

Your saying that one turn sig. is afecting the other? if so sound like you have a bad ground??? I have seen people put the wrong bulbs in the sockets and cause all kinds of problems.
If the rear defroster draws that kind of amperage, could be related to the tailight problem (is there a central ground in the rear???) You should be able to verify if its wiring or the defroster itself, unplug the defroster and hit the switch if the draw is there(guage goes into red)then you most likly have a short, (power wire rubbed and touching the frame or body). If the guage doesnt move to the red then the defroster might be defuncked(???) I dont have all the answers but maybe this helps.
