early OBD2 no scan, error

Hi guys.

Ive had problems with scanning 95 obd2 systems and wonder if anyone has any suggestions? Its happended on S10's and now since my brother bought a 95 camaro I need to know whats going on with these systems. I replaced my old generic obd2 scanner for a less generic global scanner but the system still will not interface "data link error". All ecm fuses check out no broken pins nothing obvious. Any help would be great.

95 LT1 is not an OBDII. It has an OBDII connector, but the PCM is still an OBDI. You need an OBDI scanner with an OBDII connector.

Thanks for the info. The car is not a Lt1 just a 3.4 but The system still should be OBDI then right?
Where can I get an ODBII connector for OBDI sys?

Thanks.

That's a good question. Honestly, I don't know, but you might want to check with Andrew Mattei at www.akmcables.com. I'm sure he'll have something for you.
