dtc 51 bad checksum
Re: dtc 51 bad checksum
Maybe no one knows the answer. It may be a bug in the program, i'sd shoot and email to the Datamaster programmers and inquire.
Was it that one time only, or does it happen every run? once, I'd go for a momentary comm glitch.

Re: dtc 51 bad checksum
Sounds like you can use a reflash because your current tune might be corrupted. If your car is stock, find a known good stock tune (if you send me your VIN, I can send you one too) and load that into it.
You should be a little more patient. People don't reply that quick in this section and as for Datamaster, although they do take time now, it really isn't a Datamaster issue.

Re: dtc 51 bad checksum
Was frustrated. What would make it come up bad checksum towards end of scan. Car is not stock tune. I have a saved copy of the tune thats in. I just need to send pcm off just to make sure its not the prob. I have a laptop but I cant get it to communicate with lt1 edit.
Re: dtc 51 bad checksum
Ive seen that code pop up from time to time and its just a minor hicup as far as I can tell.
Hell if you think that is bad. Sometimes my computer will not even power up on the first try.. had that happen once. Then several times it has defaulted to 1 degree of timing which still has me puzzled. I notice these errors when the computer gets a lot of heat soak from driving around town. Ill park it for a minute to get gas or whatever and start it back up with 1 degree of timing or up to 5 when I rev the motor. Thankfully though it usually comes back if I shut it down and restart. Weird stuff.
