Does F.A.S.T. make your car emission illegal?

My problem is I live in Ft. Worth Texas where they are cracking down on emissions. I'm building a 383cid turbo motor and need to run F.A.S.T. but I've heard that by installing the Fast system the stock OBD II cpu gets mad because it isn't controlling anything anymore and sets all kinds of engine codes. Is this true? If this is true I would like to plug my stock pcm back in for inspection Is this possible? I don't know what to do? Does anyone know where I can get a installation manual for the Fast system? Any info. would be a big help.

Thanks,
Justin

Yea, you will fail unless everything is enabled and ok with your OBD2.

Justin, Simply put your tuning file is going to determine if you pass emissions or not. Ideally 14.7:1 is the ideal ratio for gas mileage and emissions, but usually big turbo and supercharged applications do not run this ratio.

Since the FAST system is stand alone it will no longer require the stock LT1 PCM for engine controls at all. But the PCM is required to still be intact for dash cluster, trans (auto), and other various
functions to still work. Usually in these cases you will need a "adapter" harness which allows the FAST ECU and stock PCM to work in conjunction with each other. These are available through
Fast Track Performance and White Racing as well.

Maybe this should help some?

If you have to pass the OBDII test, then you will fail with the fast system.
