all i did was get a 1 amp 12volt transformer from rad shack. then i went to the junk yard and bought the plugs that go to the ecm from a wrecked car. all you have to do is hook up a few grounds and a few positive. one wire is the comm wire and your ready to go. you need one of the akm cables or you could build your own adapter. i built my own. i haven't fried a pcm since i switched.
an old power supply from a computer will work for your 12v source.
if you take apart the connectors that plug into the pcm and remove the extra wires you dont need for programing it is much easier.
while at the junk yard get a obd 1 or aldl connector so your cable will just plug in. so you dont have to rewire for logging or programming.
i posted the schematics for the desktop programmer in another thread but if anyone else needs it let me know.
