I can get datamaster to run and playback sample files, but it crashes every time I try to log my car or get the registration # to come up. I'm running Vista too. I'm ready to load a copy of XP on my laptop and try that.

I got Datamaster to work by going into control panel, then programs, then Use an older program with this version of windows. The compatibility wizard comes up, pick Datamaster from the list of programs. Pick Windows XP from the first list that comes up. On the next screen check these 3 boxes: Disable visual themes, Disable desktop compositions, Disable dispay scaling. On the next screen check run the program as administator.
Both Datamaster and Wideband Commander work now using this method.

I hope this helps you.

Just what I was searching for, I had it in compat mode but not with the extra boxes checked. I'm so happy that I got it to work now, I was about to go buy a cheap laptop to run xp and datamaster Thanks a lot!!

Wow, I didn't know Vista has those options. I have been using basic XP SP2 compatibility mode with success, though, running Datamaster, Freescan, and Tunercat.
