Question Data Login with TTS Datamaster

I have a 95 TA and I have TTS Datamaster. They told me when I got it that my computer is an obdI but I need a obdII cable. I can't get it to work. I plug it in and the check engine light come on and stays on and the fan stays on the entire time, but I can't get any readings on it. Please help. I need to see what is going on.

Thanks

Re: Data Login with TTS Datamaster

Are you plugging it in before you turn the car on? If not try that. Are you sure you have the right port selected in datamaster?

If it is a pure OBD-II cable, it is the wrong one.

There is a special cable for the OBD-I computer with OBD-II shaped DLC.

Re: Data Login with TTS Datamaster

considering that datamaster sent you the correct cable, have you checked to see if your computer detects the cable and what COM port it uses? Go to system/hardware and check COM ports to see if it detects the cable and what COM# it is. When you go to record, make sure you select the correct COM# in the record window under setup.
If this doesn't work, kill the sale team at datamaster and get a cable from AKMcables.com for a '95. It's basically a the same cable as the '94 (OBD-I) but with the OBD-II plug. I got the one that has a Y and has BOTH types of connectors 'cos I work with various years.
