data cable

I got my data table in the mail today. All I want is a really simple way to read diagnostic codes. What program would be best for that? the cable came with a bundle of software..tunerpro, tunerproRT, CATS tuner, Datamaster, and freescan are the current installed programs on my computer. I dont plan on any tuning right now. I just want to read the codes. thanks

I use TTS Datamaster with a usb/OBD1 cable, install cable driver, plug in cable, start exec and begin recording, easy to get working. Click on DTC err box, errors are in red. CATS Tuner requires download/installation a definition file ($19.95 from CATS) to run, it does not give error codes, basically it read/writes PCM . I could not get freeScan to communicate with my PCM so I can not comment on it. Never used the others.
