Question custom progarm (vs) HPPP III

>Well I'm getting ready to send the ole PCM to get reprogrammed again (more mods ) the last time it was reprogrammed for ;
bigger heads , gears , exhaust , cam , T/B , lower temp , etc. .
I am now going to get it for Bigger engine , S/C , and the above .
Question
Should I get the programming done for everything except gear and tire diameter change since I have the HPPP III (Hypertech Power Programmer Plus)? And just use that incase I want to change gear ratio in the middle of a season ?
Or should I get rid or the HPPP III because it will interfere with the new programming ?
Later ...
stay safe

The HPP3 will overwrite the custom programming as far as I know.
Just have the guy program everything at once and hide the hideous creature of the devil somewhere where no human can find it....

>I'm talling about using the HPPP III for tire and rear gear ratio change not for their tuning . That is what the reprogramming is for .
But ...
When I cruise I use my 17" tires , but when I race I use my 15" tires even though both are 26" diameter . Also I have 3.73:1 rear gears , but may go to 4.11:1 or 4.56:1 with my 12 bolt .
So would you rather get all this done in the PCM or everything except the tires/gears programming ?

Sorry, but I don't really understand what you're saying.
If both of your cruising/racing tires are the same diameter, then have them program it for this diameter and you'll be fine for both sets of tires.

Who does your programming?

>My E.T. Streets are 26" diameter , but 16" wheel .
My Dunlop SP8000's are 26" diameter , but 17" wheel .
My Strange 12 bolt has 3.73:1 gears (and 4.11:1) , but the stock rear has 3.42:1 gears (and 4.10:1) .
my PCM was reprogrammed a company in ILL. , and they did an awesome job , but I can't remember the name ... I will probably go with either Ed Wright or www.pcmforless.com

Program it yourself.

The time spent learning how and the difference it will make is worth it. Simple things such as getting your car to start at the snap of your wrist instead of it cranking over and over is a plus that no custom programmer can do for you because they do not know your vehicle.

It doesn't matter the size of the rim, as long as the overall wheel diameter is the same. You need to decide on which gear you want to use, because you can't program for 2 different sets of gears at the same time. The programmer will erase the custom tune if you try to program it afterwards.

>Cool ... I think I will have the custom programming done with all except the rear gears and tire diameter so both can get changed out and I can use the HPPP III for those (the HPPP III will not overwrite the custom programming as long as only the gears and tire diameter sizing is used) .
