Converting 93 to 94-94 pcm

What all has to be changed when converting a 93 Z to run a 94-95 PCM?

Why would you want to swap out the superior 93 ECM for a weakling 94-95?

Well, because I have the tuning software for the 94-95 but not for the 93.

So then what do I do with the Datamaster that I have ?
Why do you say the 93 pcm is superior?

I've posted the instructions several times, so you probably would have found them if you did a search. Here they are again though:

94 A4 harness for an automatic. These are easier to find.

There are two wires that need to be swapped around for this to work. The wires are for fuel pump and serial data.

In addition to that, you will need to get heated o2 sensors and swap out the bottom plate of your throttle body with a 94+ one. Or you can cut the IAC connector off the 93 harness and swap it over to the 94 harness.

You will most likely need to convert to a 94-96 instrument cluster or just swap a 94-96 cluster circuit board into yours. (make sure if your cluster is 150mph, the 94-96 cluster is also 150mph if you're swapping boards only)
Some people say the 93 cluster will work, but I swapped mine anyway because I know a 94-96 cluster won't work on a 93. (93s have a tach filter in the harness so you normally have to remove it if swapping in a new cluster... or swap boards)

The swap will be harder with an automatic. You will either need a 4L60E, or you will need a different VSS. You might get it to work with some tuning, or it might even work without doing anything. I know the part numbers are different for the VSS between the 2 years.

In addition, as both are P4 ECMs, with a hex editor, the OEM code of the '93 #16159278 ECM could be supplemented with FI capable code from a #1227749/1228707 ECM. You'd end up with a SD ECM capable of boost. Who needs an aftermarket ECM devoid of OEM ECM desirable 'frills'?
