computer tuning
what tuning program will allow me to adjust everything from VE tables to timing curves and fuel injector curves for my obd1 LT1 in my 87 IROC
|
tunercat or lt1 edit.
|
I think you need tunercat unless you have an LT1 in that 87. You can download a trial of tunercat to see what the program is like off of their site.

yeah i have a LT1 in the IROC and it is an OBD1 and stock wiring harness so i will check out LT1 edit and TunerCat
|
I have never used LT1 edit, but you can download a free trial of tunnercat from their site. I talked to Andrew from akmcables.com about the 2 different programs and he said that for the LT1 in my 85 that I would probably be better off with tunnercat. He said that LT1 edit has a slightly more user friendly interface, but tunnercat has settings for more of the stuff you would have to change to put it in a thirgen.

thanks momar i will give you a email if i have any specific questions
and thanks for all of yalls help |
The LT1 Edit guys dont put everything in their program if they feel people dont use it, but Tunercat is still adding things, like DTCs that can be blocked, and etc
I prefer Tunercat, plus its less expensive. Frankly I dont like the UI for LT1 Edit, it reminds me of VB 3 programs from 1994. LT1 Edits naming scheme seems friendlier to most though, but if you know how the car works you can use either one. |
What is a DTC?
Ben |
Trouble Codes, some trigger a SES light some dont.
|
DTC=diagnostic trouble code same things that make your SES (service engine soon) light come on...
|
Ok, I knew what trouble codes were and did, but didnt recoginze the abreviation.
