check engine light

this is actually about my 93 chevy truck, the check engine light is on and I would like to know if anyone would know the code and were to use a jumper wire to flash that code or if you know of a sight to get that info. I've heard that after so many miles that light will come on, if thats the case i'd like to just shut it off.

another problem I have is on my 94 camaro. at wot the engine will rev to about 4500 and the backfire all to hell and not rev any higher. the other day I took the maf off and cleaned the throtle body and with it off it did not backfire it also did not rev as quick though. anyone know the problem http://web.camaross.com/forums/images/smilies/bow.gif

Don't know if the trucks are the same, but 93 was the last year you could flash them on F-bodies - http://shbox.com/1/dlc2.jpg

usa a jumper and get th ecodes and i can tell you what they mean. the light will is not designed to go off at a certain mileage. you have a fault that the computer detected and needs scanned. i will check in the morning.

check the fuel pressure in the camaro at wot. common for fuel pump problems
