I have added 8.% to the ve tables and it acts like it is getting worse, am i going the right way, or should i be using a different table?

 

I know it is lean because the plugs are extremely white on top but down in them it is black, any ideas? They look like that after a 4 mile drive with no WOT. They were brand new.

 

It should not be lean at part throttle. The computer shoots and adjusts for 14.7 in closed loop. I would check it with a wideband as opposed to making decisions based on your spark plugs. 4 miles is not long enough to get an accurate spark plug reading. You probably barely got into closed loop if at all.

 

that is the second set of plugs in it, that looked like that, the others had probably 5000 miles on them, it is also picking up knock and retarding the timing 9.0 degrees between 1000 and 2500

 

Try looking at your short and long term fuel trims.

 

Try adding a couple of % to your maf tables in the affected areas.
