can i keep the 93 tranny when switching to a 94 pcm?

can i keep the 93 tranny when switching to a 94 pcm?

my buddy has a 93 lt1 with the 700r4 he wants to switch it to a 94-95 pcm so it can be tuned, we have the connectors for the pcm , i was just gonna splice his exisitng harness to match, the only thing is the transmission has a detent cable instead of being electronicly controlled, it still has connections on it just not as many, what can be done to keep the transmission as it is already built up.

It can be used. Just tune the trans as a manual or take all the parameters out of it. The 93 can be tuned. Just a different method. I tune many 93s. Are you going to stay speed density or swap to a maf?
