Cable Compatibility (AKM or Moates with Turbolink)

Could someone do me a huge favor and try this scanning/datalogging software with their AKM or Moates cable. The turbolink 4.0 software can be downloaded http://www.turbo-link.com/upgrades/T..._VP11_FULL.msi

http://www.turbo-link.com/

I'm just trying to determine if i can buy a less expensive cable and use this software.

Thanks in advance,
Brent

TTT

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, Someone with an OBDI cable please try this out. I don't have 100 bucks to experiment by buying an akm cable, but it would save 200 bucks if it worked. I'm sure some other people would be interested in trying out this software if it turns out that it works with a standard AKM cable and you don't have to buy their overpriced 300 dollar cable.

Thanks,
Brent

Andrew of AKM tried it for me. No dice:

Hi Brent,

It doesn't look like it. I just downloaded TL from the web site, and plugged in my cable, and tried some testing... it didn't respond to my cable at all. Looks like nice software tho. But I don't think my cable will be compatible.

Cheers,

Andrew

Thanks for checking it out Mike. I was actually looking at software for my ttype and saw this would work for the LT1 as well, so that made the sale for me. I'm speculating that they just swap a couple of the wires between the ALDL plug and the serial port so that only their cable works with their software. Hopefully by this time tomorrow i'll be out playing with it and getting some good data on the ttype.
