I have #83 Siemens injectors, and I'm pretty confused, as I see actually LOWER pulsewidths at idle with my smaller injectors than Jeff with his 96#pounders

If your fuel pressures are way different, it could cause this. Have you checked your fuel pressure?

i have a stock FPR so i see right at 41-42 psi at idle..ill take a look at the pulse tomorrow and see what it says.....sooo HOW CAN WE FIX THIS lol

btw..i am pretty sure i have seen PW less then 1.0 so that cant be it....also i get this problem when i am driving and let of the gas and let the car cruize in gear....BLMs lock at 128/128 and afr sits right at 13.1 or so......so it happens at idle and at cruzing bellow 2% TPS or so...

I really HOPE we're not ****ED with this whole thing.

Marcin, do you have a set of high impedance injectors? I'm really curious what would they do.
I'll try to borrow a set from a friend, but I still have to wait for my new turbo to arrive, which is due end of next week.

checked the car out at idle today...pluse is at .4-.6 at idle..same with cruise....any ideas what to do to make the car run LEAN at idle and off throtle? I am tired of shooting raw gas out of the tailpipes

Hi Marcin,
I'm still fighting this problem, and as this is now the only problem I have which holds me back from driving the car around, I'm pretty determined to solve this once for all.

I tried to tune out the rich condition at idle, without any success, both open and closed loop. The PCM does not respond to any changes to the fueling tables (Open loop AFR, etc..) , tried PE Idle, nothing, the PCM just ignores the values, and AFR stays at 12.0, with pulsewidths at 1.0ms.

I have borrowed a set of high Z FMS 24lb/hr injectors, which I will give a try later this evening. This way I can rule out some components, that may be causing the PCM to ignore things.

Cross your fingers...

Shat, I missed that line!! That basically proves, that < 1.0ms pulsewidths are possible to be commanded! That gives us some hope I guess

So, an update...

We have BLM correction now with the high impedance 24lbs/hr injectors!!! Both with the Versafueler plugged in and bypassed.

Everything is fine, so I guess it rules out the Versafueler, stock PCM and wiring harness.

Now we really need to stick our heads together and work out something on why it would ignore O2 feedback with the low impedance 83# Siemens Deka's.

Come on guys... I think I'm more confused now than ever

PROBLEM IS SOLVED!!!

I’ve contacted TC @ Tunercat.com with this problem, asked them if they knew of any limits that would set a pulse width barrier at 1.X ms. A couple of days later, and after some code hacking, they sent me today a modified $EE definition file to which they’ve added a „Minimum Injector Pulse Width” constant… opened up my bin in Tunercat with the new definition, and BINGO!! Minimum pulse width is set at 1.4ms per factory!!
So I changed it to 0.5ms, loaded up the new bin, and I’VE GOT BLM CORRECTION AGAIN WITH #83 LOW IMPEDANCE INJECTORS!! Idles at 800rpm, 14.7 AFR, smooth as silk!

The updated $EE definition file is already available for download at www.tunercat.com

So, everyone who has this problem, please download the new definition, and change minimum injector pulse width constant!!

I’d like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Christian Millard and Jeff „LJ” Stevens who were really helpful and took the time to discuss this problem with me, as well as to the great staff @ Tunercat, who turned out to have the best customer service ever!

See, I’ve told you I’m really determined to find a solution, here it is!
